You are invited to Maldives!

Good morning everyone! It’s a rainy miserable day today in Aberdeen and as I am typing this I am sitting in my office because this PhD is just consuming my life at the moment. There are graphs to be done, data to be analysed and did I mention the writing is yet to be finished? My oh my, someone send me some strength to go through all this.

‘Nuff said about research, let’s go into the interesting stuff 😉

Something completely and utterly unexpected happened the other day, whilst I was going throug my Natbee’s inbox, an email with the title ‘You are invited to Maldives’ landed! As you understand I got butterflies in my stomach, my hand started shaking and my palm was sweating. Long story make it short I am indeed invited to Maldives and the e-mail wasn’t a spam. It is an invitation on behalf of a 5* hotel and it involves staying at 3 different locations within a week. To say that I am beyong excited is an understatement. Currently I am in the process of negotiating how I will balance the work I have with this trip and I am praying to God that my supervisors will show some mercy!

So here I am in the office on a Saturday trying to fit in as much as work as possible to finish this damn experiment and be free to travel the world! But while I am still in Scotland I am just trying to cherish my last months here and do the most of them. So two weekends ago I visited Edinburgh and had a bit of wander around before ending up at my favourite Richmond Cafe-it’s a Greek cafe that serves bougatsa the most sensational breakfast, a Phyllo pie with custard cream and cinnamon dusted on top!

It was rainy but that didn’t stop me from wearing my new denim skirt and top without jacket! After brunch I went around the Old Town streets for some window shopping and as per usual I ended up drooling over cashmere, tartan, colourful scarves.

Anyway, I will let the photos do the talking. Happy Saturday!
