10 Reasons you should visit Paris

…not necessarily in this order!

1. Ladurée macarons
Ladurée macarons are a league on their own. Despite the fact that locals say they are over-estimated I still love them, certainly they must be a reason why the sell more than 15,000 per day! Not your avegare macarons and in fact much more pricey than expected but so tasty that they worth every and each penny you spent on them. Not to mention how beautiful the Ladurée shop and the cafe are-absolutely smitten!

2. The Eiffel tower
No trip to the French capital would be complete without a visit to the iconic Eiffel tower, or else known “The Iron Lady”. Did you know that when it was built back in the 1889 it was not intended to be permanent? It was going to be demolished in 1909 but was saved because it was re-purposed as a giant radio antenna!

3. French croissants

‘Nough said! You can find croissants in every corner of any city but not quite like the Parisienne croissants and what a better place to get them than the traditional Parisian bakery Du Pain et des Idées! They offer a bespoke range of delicious, fresh products and don’t even get me started with the interior of the boulangerie-makes me even more inspired to have my own one day 🙂
4. Stunning architecture
Anywhere you go in Paris there are beautiful buildings; arches, balconies, flowers by the windows and colourful doors are just a few of the things you will notice walking down the streets and let me tell you that having a fully charged camera is the best advice I can give you if you are obsessed with photography.
5. Breakfast at Cafe Marly
It really cannot get any better than this; picture sitting by the window looking over the Louvre museum and sipping a think, hot chocolate served by the most stylish waitor dressed in blacn and white. Parisienne much I hear you say?
6. The Arc de Triomphe
Standing in honour of all the soldiers that fought for the country, Arc de Triomphe symbolises the French nation and it is a revered patriotic site in the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle. If you have time to get on top of the monument then get ready for some spectacular views and perfect picture backgrounds.

7. Chocolate
One of my friends who used to live in Paris told me that her money at the end of the month were never enough, not because Paris is an expensive city but because she would always spent her money on chocolate, and good chocolate means also expensive chocolate. If you ask me the best chocolate I’ve ever tried was at a traditional chocolaterie called, A la Mère de Famille.
It’s an old family bussiness with history in chocolate making. Did I mention you can get pate a tartiner (chocolate spread) for the price of a Strabucks coffee….and oh these muffins, certainly a must!

8. Louvre

When I first read the DaVinci code, almost ten years ago, I would have never imagined that the museum de Louvre is what I had pictured and even more. Be prepared for long waiting queues, unless if you buy your tickets on-line, worth it in either case, especially if you are a culture lover.
9. Vegetarian heaven
If you are all about organic food and vegetarian meals then Paris has it all for you. We tried the Café Pinson menu and loved it. Definitely going back.
10. Fashion, style and decoration
People is Paris are dressed into the latest trends and it’s not something to be surprised since Paris is the centre of fashion all year around and not only during the Paris Fashion Week. Coco Chanel, Christian Dior and Christian Louboutin are a few of my favourite designers and to say that women in Paris have a bespoke style is unnecessary. Make sure to wear stripes and a beret and you are ready to go!
I hope you liked my reasons to visit Paris in case you have not already been convinced or you needed a bit more of travel inspiration.
Happy Friday! I am off to drink some champagne hope you all have a great start to your weekend 🙂
