Let me start by saying this is not a sponsored post. I haven’t gotten paid to promote these products. They are products that I have tried and loved and because I like sharing skincare tips with others I wanted to share these 7 Skincare Miracle Products that have saved my (very) dry skin this autumn and they might save yours too!
I never had, and never thought I’d need, a fancy skincare routine in my life, ever. Young, foolish, amateur, I know! For as far as I can remember, my Mum has been only using a night and a day cream and she looks great, so I suppose this is where I got my idea of skincare. Up until recently, night skincare products belonged only to the John Lewis beauty counters and I’d never consider buying any of them. Not because I cannot afford them, but because I had no clue what to do with them and I thought I didn’t really need them.
Admittedly, I was wrong, and I had no idea what I was missing out until I was approached by Botanics Boots to become their ambassador last year. Surely this meant I had to try at least a few products, right? Every month, I would receive a few products to try and then I would share my opinions on my Instagram and let everyone know what I thought of them. As with anything else in life, one thing led to another, and before I knew it I was contacted by Charlotte Tilbury, Origins UK and Erborian (to name a few) that asked if I’d like to try their products and let people who read my Blog know. 7 Skincare Miracle Products
I promise I am not just dropping names here, you’ll see where this is leading…
Being super lucky to have tried and tested some of the bestsellers of the aforementioned brands I soon realised that having a routine skincare could save you from applying concealer first thing in the morning and would even give you the confidence to walk around wearing very little, or not at all, makeup. Which in my cards is a great victory as I like getting out of the door with only a lip balm and rouge on my face.
But, it wasn’t until three weeks ago that I REALLY appreciated skincare. I was casually watching the Instagram Stories of Anna Hart, a fellow blogger who tries loads of gorgeous skincare products and gives the best recommendations. She mentioned Beauty Pie, a company that buys luxury make-up and skincare products, bottles them up in white, no labelled packages and resells them at a much, much lower price. Ultimately, the product is the same as the one you’d buy at the beauty counter of your favourite store, but because you buy the product rather than the brand, you pay a lower price. Genius isn’t it? In order to be able to order you have to become a member, pay a certain monthly fee (rates start as low as £5!) and start saving up to 85% on high quality anti-ageing creams and make-up products.
I was very sceptical at first – anything with a member subscription sounds tricky to me, much as my gum membership. I have one but very rarely use it so I end up having monthly payments taken off my bank account for nothing. 7 Skincare Miracle Products
I decided to give it a go anyway and registered myself. You can always cancel your membership so if not happy with the scheme you are free to leave and stop the monthly payments rolling.7 Skincare Miracle Products
I paid £35, including shipping, and ordered 3 Super Retinol Anti-Aging Skincare products, which gave me loads of laughs once I opened the package as I had completely forgotten what I ordered – a hand cream, an eye cream and a facial moisturiser, all promising to make the fine lines disappear after religious applications on my skin every night.7 Skincare Miracle Products
Not to make this story much longer, the products did exactly what they promised and no later than a week I noticed that my skin, especially my hands skin, looked younger and more plumbed. My skinny face finally looked more rounded (or as much rounded as it can get) and I was extremely happy to see these results at such short time of product application. 7 Skincare Miracle Products
Other Skincare Miracle Products that have contributed to my more youthful looking skin are:
1// The Origins foaming face wash. I start my night care routine by gently washing my face with the face wash and the Botanics face brush. They both leave my skin clean and it only takes a little amount of the face wash as it gets really frothy as soon as I start massaging my face, so great value for money.
2// I use the Origins Clear Improvement active charcoal mask (can you tell I love Origins?) once per week to clear my skin pores. It has a much finer texture than The Body Shop Himalayan charcoal mask that I was using up until 6 months ago and purifies the skin pores better by attracting all the oils, dirt and grime. I apply it on moist skin, let it dry while watching Gilmore Girls and then remove it with a wet moist towel.
3// Next, I apply the Origins high potency night-a-mins cream and skin refining oil as they are both heavenly treats. The cream has a rich consistency and instantly softens the skin and the oil makes my skin feel like baby skin the next morning. Since I have ordered the Super Retinol eye and night cream from the Beauty Pie I have substituted the Origins products with them.
4// When I wake up, I just throw cold water on my face and apply the Botanics hydration burst cream with clary sage, it has a slightly sticky consistency but it spreads easily and gets absorbed by my skin instantly. It only costs £9 and I do feel it makes my skin look smooth and young. And then I apply an olive oil based lip balm and that’s me done!
Another product that I have been using every time I shower is the Botanics radiant youth microdermabrasion polish, which is a very gentle face scrub that removes all dead cells, especially around my nose. It is so gentle, it is fine to use 3-4 times per week without creating skin breakouts and as per most Botanics products it comes at a low price but does a great job!
And that’s all I have been doing lately and all the products I’ve been using to make my skin look radiant and more fresh.
