So many exciting things happened the past weekend that I didn’t have the proper time to blog about this glorious afternoon Christmas tea at The Corinthian Club Glasgow, the ultimate pre-Christmas treat! But this morning, while we are about to head to Edinburgh for a lovely (and quite unexpected) VIP launch party, I thought it should be proper to close last weekend’s chapter here, as I like to keep things in a chronological order on the blog. So here I am today, taking you back to last Saturday and inviting you to a glorious Moet & Chandon afternoon tea in Glasgow!
When: November, 2016
The Corinthian Club holds a lot of memories for me. I visited it for the first time four years ago whistl going on a night out with my friends. I was astonished by the glamorous interior, number of rooms available and fabulous cocktails. See…this is not your *average* venue, as it includes eleven different rooms that could facilitate any occasion from partying in The Club to playing in The Casino or having a Little Black Dress party at The Flying Scotsman, this is the place to be! Being slightly tired (after last night’s Little Black Dress party), Beth and I figured out that having an afternoon tea would be the best cure. And it really was! Afternoon Christmas tea at The Corinthian Club Glasgow
We were welcomed with glasses of Moet and Chandon decorated with the most aromatic strawberry each after we were seated to our table. Beth got a big sip and we started chatting away about last night’s events – the room decoration, the stylish way everyone was dressed, the catwalk, the fabulous goody bags….
…until we were interrupted by the waitress, delivering a heavily laden cake stand, which made it hard for us to decide where to begin!
Our taste buds were being treated to an assortment of miniature lemon pies, puddings and chocolate brownies that made us fall in love with the experience! I particularly loved the cinnamon scones, the spiciness of the batter was simply perfect on the run for Christmas, it really puts you in the mood. Adding a bit of creme and a spooning generous quantity of strawberry jam, and it suddenly became the best kind of friend to accompany my delicious Earl Grey tea. Beth liked the chocolate brownie, it was soft, gooey, with a lovely, rich, buttery taste-yum!
As we were eating and chatting, pot after pot of tea arrived on the table, and by the end of the meal we were full to bursting, that we had to leave a few bites on the tray. Afternoon Christmas tea at The Corinthian Club Glasgow
We chatted about Beth’s job hunting and our current situation of house hunting. About Ph.D. frustration and everything that moves slower than a snail, and about the exciting times ahead. Mostly hoping for a wonderful 2017.
It felt like the nicest way to welcome Christmas and the festive season! Afternoon Christmas tea at The Corinthian Club Glasgow
