I typically eat something sweet for breakfast. It might be an almond croissant, fruits with yogurt and chocolate drops on top, pancakes or in this case jam swirls!
Puff pastry jam swirls is a super easy breakfast idea and oh, so delicious!
This recipe is so easy and fun to do, it will not take more than 15 minutes and also all the ingredients are cheap and easy to find in the market. So shall we start….
For this recipe you will need (serves 4 people):
300 g puff pastry (let it in room temperature for at least an hour before making the swirls)
jam of your choice (I used strawberry and orange)
Start by pre-heating the oven at 180 degrees.
Then roll out the pastry on a non-stick baking paper or a floured surface.
With a silicone spatula apply the jam of your choice on the pastry…
…carefully roll the pastry…
…spread some egg on the top of the roll..
..and sprinkle a tiny bit of icing sugar.
Cut with a sharp knife into small pieces (almost 2 cm long)
Place the swirls on a baking tray that you have previously covered with a baking paper and bake for 10 minutes until the swirls get a golden colour.
Eat them while they are still warm 🙂
Easy as that!
