Baking // Toblerone chocolate cake




Hours before New Years Eve, I found myself craving for chocolate overdose. Then I remembered that when I was a college student my mum used to do a similar cake like this one so I made a better version of it and named it after Toblerone as I poured a huge melted chocolate bar on the top. The recipe is so simple that you are going to want to high-five me by the end.

For this recipe you will need (2 chocolate cakes):
500 gr plain flour
350 gr caster sugar
200 gr cocoa powder
2tsp baking powder
2 tsp bicarbonate soda
4 eggs (I used free range)
500 ml milk
125 gr butter
4 tsp vanilla extract
1 Toblerone chocolate bar (100 gr)
Break the chocolate bar into small pieces and place them in a small sauce pan. Heat the pan until the chocolate starts melting (be careful it does not get burnt). 
Place all the other ingredients in a big bowl and mix them with an electric whisk, until its smooth and well combined. 
Grease two cake tins. Divide the mixture between the tins and bake for 30′ in 200 degrees. Remove the cakes from the tins with a knife and allow them to cool. 
Pour the melted Toblerone chocolate on top of each cake and you are ready to go!
