Castle on the coast: visiting Tantallon Castle

During our trip to North Berwick last weekend, we went to Tantallon castle. Steven and I love driving around and discovering new castles-spoiled of choices, aren’t we in Scotland? Tantallon castle is so close to North Berwick I had no idea, only 5′ in the car and you are there!

This castle is a bit different than the ones we have visited so far; the building is tall and awakens your deep buried vertigo feelings. Add to this that it is located on the top of a cliff and you get the entire picture…

^ ^ the views are stunning from up there ^ ^

However, what is special about this castle is that it has the BEST view of the Bass Rock! Yup, if there is one place that has a clear view of the famous North Berwick bird rock then this is it.

Tantallon was built in the mid 14th century and it was inhibited up until the 17th! I loved the inner court window views, for a second my brain drifted back away and visualised how beautiful it must have been to live in this place back in time.

^ ^ Rocks and stones and endless blues and greens, I was sold! ^ ^

I would almost forget to mention what I was wearing, there you have it:
dress-ASOS, top-H&M, trainers and bag-c/o Hotter
