Since I started the writing up of my PhD thesis I’ve lost count of the days. In fact, I live in a fast mode where days go by and I forget to eat food or drink water because my brain is focused on one thing and only.
There hasn’t been a single day that I haven’t worked-yes, weekends included-or checked my emails for any research updates.
Of course everything comes with a cost and the price I’m currently paying is being behind on traveling, blogging and enjoying you know the little things in life like a cappuccino and a slice of cake without being stressed about my work.
Slowly, a step at a day, I’m trying to reclaim myself and normal routine back, starting with a no-email-answering-Sundays routine where I switch off my phone and spend time with Cruz chasing birds and picking up branches for future garden bonfires.
Making sure that I keep up with my promises, this Sunday we drove all the way to Aviemore (one of my favourite places in Aberdeenshire). If you follow my Instagram stories (if not have a look at @natbeesfashion), then you’ve already seen mini videos of Cruz sniffing the river shore and eating sanded grass-a delicious delight as it appears!
We walked along a caravan site in the woods, opening and closing gates every half mile whilst Cruz was making his way under the fence. Some days this puppy behaves more like a cat than a dog!
I’m off to London for the weekend but before this I’m working on two exciting blog project, one being with Union Square Aberdeen and there’s a little giveaway for you coming soon. So check my social media for some cheeky updates.
Happy Tuesday!
