Down the beach

Down the beach

After spending the last 2 days battling with my own thoughts, I decided not to take my flight back to Aberdeen yesterday and to extend my stay in Corfu by another 12 days. Twelve days of blissful sunshine, 25 degrees of warmth and  ice cold frappes by the beach. Sounds good to me!

It is Good Friday in Greece today, we woke up by the sound of waves, quickly got dressed and headed to Agios Georgios church at Argyrades, to pay our respects. Once we got back in St Georgios Village we took up residence at the beach club where we had a beautiful, fresh lunch by the pool.

There’s nothing quite like a freshly squeezed orange juice by the swimming pool, after all.

Wearing the most comfortable, retro swimsuit from Benetton (courtesy of my sister) I headed down the beach for a wander and chit chat with my newly acquired English friends.

Currently it is 25 degrees of Celsius in Corfu, perfect temperature for a day of adventures by the sea.

We played with the waves, build castles in the sand and left our footprints in the sand, only to see them disappearing within seconds. The sea waters were crystal clear and I even saw some fish swimming away!

It was lovely to have a day of sweet nothingness to gather our strength for what is to come this night. I can safely say I don’t regret my decision to not board on that plane last night…
