Last Christmas, Santa Claus generously gifted me a pair of diamond earrings and a diamond necklace from Jamieson & Carry. It was one of the sweetest gifts I have ever received and certainly one not to be forgotten. Sparkly and delicate, it scintillates in my jewellery box waiting to be worn on annual celebrations and special occasions. Jamieson & Carry
Not a stranger to people living in Aberdeen, Jamieson & Carry is an independent, family-owned store that has been proudly serving luxury gifts – from Rolex watches to engagement rings and diamond sets – for the past 280 years! With a rich heritage and history, Jamieson & Carry has become a family tradition, proud of their workshop and skilled craftspeople within it, they offer jewellery individually-designed and handmade in-house, loved by everyone since 1733!
Situated in a beautiful two-storey building, with big windows, velvet benches and a gorgeous staircase on 142 Union Street, it’s impossible that you have walked past it and did not notice the unique collections proudly displayed in the shop windows. From prices starting as low as £20, here you can find idiosyncratic gifts, and luxury jewellery and watches for your beloved ones.
This past Wednesday, it was Show Time at Jamieson & Carry! To celebrate their annual Bonus Fortnight promotion (3 November – 17 November) and provide their customers with a Customer Bonus Voucher worth 15% of the value of purchase they invited me to an evening of dazzling wonder. Excited to see their re-designed store which includes a newly completed Rolex area, and the addition of new premium brand collections, my friend Maria and I had the pleasure of visiting the store for this exclusive event!
Mixologists from ‘The Spiritualist’ were in place and served exclusive cocktails and champagne. Maria and I had a few Midas Touch cocktails and delicious canapés prepared by Wilde Thyme (the potatoes with truffle oil and cheese were divine!) whilst wandering around the rooms, talking to the jewellery specialists and listening to the live entertainment.
Jamieson & Carry
Once we had a look at the stylish Rolex display collection, greeted and chatted to a few too many people admiring the collections as much as we did, we decided it was time to head to the upper floor where some of the most impressive collections were held! Each brand representative was behind their window display, inviting you to have a look at their dazzling stock and let me tell you there were so many beautiful things I did not know where to begin!
We approached David representing Hans D. Krieger, one of Jamieson & Carry‘s premium brands and had a chat about rings. I adore elegant, thin rings – earrings and rings are the pinnacles of my daily outfits – and David was more than happy to discuss with us about the Hans D. Krieger in-store and online.
I wore this 18ct white gold ring with three round brilliant diamonds, each in a open side cluster surround and once David asked me how much I thought it was the price of it, I was shocked to know that it was cheaper than £2k! Next, I tried a white gold diamond bangle and LOVED the sparkling feeling of luxury that my hands were treated to!
I tried a few engagement rings too (not that I am to be engaged anytime soon) and loved that there were so many options to choose from, no doubt it would make anyone’s decision difficult! There were brilliant single stone, three stone and of course the classic cluster engagement rings, what a selection!
What caught everyone’s attention though was this diamond necklace masterpiece that came with a price of £220k! Shiny, elegant and beautifully rounded it was undoubtedly where everyone’s eyes were at!
But don’t let this price put you off. Jamieson & Carry is not about expensive diamond necklaces only, it is about superb craftsmanship, unique designs, inviting, welcoming faces and most of all, a place where you can find a gift for everyone at a vast price range, convenient for everyone’s pocket!
Santa, did you hear this?
