Years ago, when I was living in the Hillhead Student Village – a desperate decision I made once I realised there was not a single possibility I’d find somewhere better to live when moving in Aberdeen – I got down to North Donmouth beach almost every weekend! It was my escape from the city and as it was only a 10′ walk from my flat, it soon became the regularity.
This weekend we drove to North Donmouth beach with Cruz and nothing else in mind but pursuing that illusive thing named ‘let the dog run wild and relax’. If you are a Jack Russell owner, I am sure you’ll get what I mean here. There’s not much better than the smell of the sea and fresh air for a little weekend treat to yourself, and North Donmouth beach, a paradise to enjoy the spectacular view of North Sea Coastline on the edge of the city, has both in ample quantities.
These days the sun is warmer than I have ever experienced in my years residing in Scotland, so I got my summer clothes on before heading beach-wards, including these Fatface jeans and open toe flats. Having this lovely opportunity to take photographs of bright skies, blue waves and sandy beaches on a Sunday morning just never gets old, does it!
Cruzy turned sand-beard within seconds after our arrival and needed hosing-down when we got home, but he had so much fun and I didn’t mind at all the mess in the car and the house. He met new friends, and then run off with another Jack Russell, with so much excitement on his paws, quite a sight to be seen!
Now, I am just going to leave you with a few more pictures from that wonderful day, as I need to hoover the carpets, the sand on Cruzy’s paws and beard that I was talking about…
^ ^ The moment I realised Cruzy was sniffing and rolling all over a dead seagull… ^ ^
Have you ever visited North Donmouth beach in Aberdeen?
