Where: Marrakesh, Morocco
When: November, 2015
Upon my arrival to Es Saadi, my very first thought was “I wish I could live here forever”. Sure I’ve been to luxury hotels before but this was something completely different. The thing with the Es Saadi and in particular the Villa Favorite is that it looks more like a palace from another era than a hotel for tourists.
Functionality and beauty are in perfect harmony here. The villa blends traditional Moroccan architecture with modern details. From the harmonious rose colours to the monumental carved doors in this villa there was attention paid to every detail. Much like the rose petals thrown on the bathroom floor, I fall in love! No wonder why Cynthia Nixon chose to stay in this place while filming Sex and the City 2, which was based in Marrakesh.
After spending too much time by the swimming pool we headed to the restaurant for lunch and there I had it, my very first lobster club sandwich, followed by some tantalizing desserts. Sunshine, palm trees, great food and company, it really felt like heaven, so far away from the grey Scottish weather…
Literally drooling while looking at these pictures and wishing I could somehow teleport myself back to this place…
For a moment we fall into food coma, but we soon headed to the Dior Institute, but more on this tomorrow…
