Happy Friday friends and welcome to another instalment of The Friday Edit blog Series. This week was an exciting one but I cannot hide the fact that I was mostly looking forward to this weekend as I am going to Edinburgh, and then Glasgow, my favourite Scottish city! Someone suggested the other day on Twitter that I should name The Friday Edit as the Scottish Travel Blogger Series and document the trips I take every week(end). It doesn’t sound like a bad idea but for the time being I think this name would do and perhaps I could establish The Scottish Travel Blogger Series at some other point as part of the Travel Category that I have here on the Blog. Would you be interested in something like this? Or maybe I should bring back the Weekend Series, where I was documenting what I did each past weekend including what I wore, where I’ve been and so on, a good mixture of travel, lifestyle and fashion!

Scottish Travel Blogger SeriesHere is what made this week exciting:

ONE// On Monday, I went thrift shopping with my favourite lady, Hollie and I loved every single bit of it! We bought loads of frames, one of them featuring this beautiful apples illustration that is proudly hanging on the kitchen wall as I type this. Everytime I meet Hollie she brightens my day, she is one of the most positive people I know and I am so happy she is in my life. If you do not follow her Blog or Instagram yet then please make sure you do. She makes the cutest bunnies and she is an excellent baker too, so prepare yourself for loads of wonderful creations and recipes! Scottish travel blogger series

TWO// On Tuesday, I met with Heather from Heather on her Travels, a Bristol based blogger that visited Aberdeen as part of a collaboration with FlyBMI – they established a new FlyBMI route from Bristol to Aberdeen and Heather was corresponding for them. We had breakfast at Food Story, pancakes and cappuccino – YUM! – and then I took Heather on a special Insta-tour around Aberdeen city centre and Old Aberdeen. Even though it was a cold, windy day, we both loved chatting away while sightseeing. It’s always nice to show people around Aberdeen and play the tourist!

THREE// On Wednesday, a surreal thing happened and I got featured on the latest Instagram account by Liv Purvis, the Insecure Girls Club! Liv created this account to help women with insecurities know that, it is OK not to feel OK, and to embrace vulnerability. In an Insta-perfect world, I think this account was exactly what we all needed 🙂 On my post, I talked about my Imposter Syndrome developed during my Ph.D. studies (which, I briefly discussed here too, in the past), and I was so glad to see that me opening about the subject touched so many other girls. I cherish and am grateful for everyone of you who messaged me and approached me saying my story was relatable to you. If you are going through the same, know that this too shall pass!

FOUR// Keeping up with the house renovation updates, I have finally finished painting the bathroom, kitchen and half the living room! More on this next week!

How was your week? Scottish travel blogger series

Thrift shopping is so much fun! Although it can be tiring, it’s super exciting discovering hidden pieces! When I thrift with friends, I’m more inclined to try on weird stuff for laughs 🙂 // Congrats on the feature, and thank you for sharing your insecurities! We all have them, and yet we try to hard to hide them from one another. Imposter Syndrome is so real! Even though identifying it doesn’t always help overcome it, it’s a step in the right direction, and you can feel a little peace knowing that there’s a name and reason for the way you feel.

Thank you Audrey for your kind comment!
I think Imposter Syndrome is a very difficult thing and the more we talk about it, the more we deal with it. I didn’t even know such thing existed until I’ve spoken to a few colleagues about my feelings and I was surprised to realise that they felt exactly the same!
I second all you said about charity shopping 🙂 xx
