Good morning friends and welcome to another instalment of The Friday Edit Series! This week loads of interesting things happened, from discussions about bloggers work and whether they should be working for free to London Travel Guides and meetings with empowering women, we heard it and did it all!
Here’s what happened..
ONE// On Monday night I had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Susie Cormack from SincerelyyoursSusie at the Chester Hotel. Susie was in town for the The Royal Bank of Scotland’s 100 Women (see more below), and as we have been following each other on social media for ages we figured this was the time to finally meet in person! I met Susie back in 2016 when she was working for i-on magazine and got in touch with me for an interview. They had just started a Series featuring local bloggers and I had the honour to be the first Aberdeen blogger to be featured! Needless to say I was bursting with excitement! Fast forward to today and Susie and I have become good friends, it’s funny how Instagram connects people, right? So, on Monday night we found ourselves finally chatting away about all things life and blogging and whilst I was explaining how hectic things get sometimes here on Natbee’s she popped the question::
‘why don’t you get more contributors? People with new voices that could bring fresh content to Natbee’s?
and so that was it! After we finished our glasses of wine, I came back home and kept flirting with the idea. I already had worked with contributors in the past, I knew how to edit articles and apply Natbee’s brand all over my social media and Blog even if I had other people on-board, so what stopped me from doing it once again?
TWO// The next day, I attended The Royal Bank of Scotland’s 100 Women – I did a mini vlog from the day so don’t forget to check back my Youtube channel for when it goes live! There were local women who achieved more than I could have ever imagined and the talented Emma Gannon, author of The Multi-Hyphen Method, who discusses why women can have more than one job(s) and still have a good life/work balance. I left feeling inspired, empowered and that I can do anything I put my eyes and hands on. If you are in Dundee, Edinburgh or Glasgow, keep an eye for the event, it’s coming your way!
THREE// Wednesday evening and I finally posted on my Instagram Stories that I am interested in getting 3 additional contributors here at Natbee’s. By Thursday morning, I already had 8 people expressing their interest and their answers were overwhelming! I was deeply honoured to have the pleasure to chat to these people and as I type this I have another e-mail in my inbox from a lovely girl who is a friend of a friend and I cannot possibly say no to her!
I guess this week was a week of challenges and changes. Challenging ourselves is one of the toughest and most rewarding things, and I realised that sometimes it is acceptable to ask for help when you are drowning. I am EXCITED for what the future holds for us here at Natbee’s and I look forward to share everything with you and introduce you to the new team <3
