As you may imagine selling our car didn’t come easy. It was my boyfriend’s MSc graduation gift from his parents and our second car being together. We went on many memorable trips with this car and it was also the first grown-up car that we have ever owned!
We had little doubt that it would take us more than a few weeks to buy a new car, but with this and that it took us more than a few months! Until last week that my boyfriend ordered his new shiny toy. It took me half a day to get used to remembering the model – too long for my taste – and so we named her Car-rrie! When my colleagues asked me what’s the model of the car I just said a silver BMW and I think this is where I am going to leave it as I still cannot get the bloody model’s name right. So, say hi to Carrie!
I seem to forever be making plans of driving here and there but the weather has another idea. So the day that we had Carrie delivered to our house, and our enthusiasm perked up once we saw her turning the corner of the street, Mr weather gave us one of the wettest and windiest of days! And so, our happy day began with a hop into the car wearing our raincoats and having two flasks filled with peppermint tea.
It’s always the small moments of joy that make a day special, isn’t it?
Whether it’s that first breath of fresh air when opening the window or getting dressed in a soft shirt in the morning, there’s nothing quite like being able to look back at a day and appreciate these simple moments of happiness. For us, the best kind of weekends are the ones that we drive somewhere in the Scottish Highlands and let Cruzy go wild in the woods before grabbing a pub lunch somewhere.
And boy, did he go wild this time! Sniffing every single tree along his way, chasing birds that had the audacity to touch the ground and demanding biscuits every time he’d return back once we called his name. When we run out of biscuits he ate a few too many stems of grass and leaves that, as you can see from the images below, are more delicious than one could ever imagine!
And this is pretty much how our Saturday went by. A long drive from Aberdeen to Banchory to Braemar, a coffee stop at the Park Shop cafe but most importantly welcoming Carrie into our little family. Oh, the adventures that are to follow.
