The day Cassandra booked her flight tickets, I realised that we couldn’t spend all of our time in Edinburgh, so I started thinking where shall I take her in order to see as much of Scotland as possible.
Aberdeen is one of the biggest cities up in the North of Scotland, and apparently it is also the most expensive city in the United Kingdom after London! It is only 2,5 hours away from Edinburgh by train so I believe it is worth visiting. We got the early morning train (yes we woke up at five o’clock in the morning and after that I am sure that miracles happen), and arrived just on time for breakfast. Luckily, next to the train station is a huge Mall so we spend sometime at Starbucks, before the sightseeing tour.
We started our tour in Old Aberdeen, one of the most beautiful places to visit when in Aberdeen. There are many semi-detached houses lined in a row of a long cobbled street that end to the University.
We had a quick lunch at a small cafe and then chatted with some students that advised us to visit the nearest park and see the River Don. The park was really beautiful and I can imagine that during summer it will be fantastic, but I found it a little bit creepy that there is an old cemetery next to it. Wouldn’t want to walk by it, at night! After walking and taking endless pictures we got back to the city centre and spent sometime in the Mall. Cassandra bought chocolates for her friends and before we realized it, it was time to go back.  Arrived in Edinburgh tired and hungry but glad that we travelled up in the North of Scotland!

Love,
Anastasia
