I was super excited to visit the Colosseum, going to Rome and not visiting that would have been a huge mistake. It was a very hot day and it felt like we were melting under the sun, but that didnt keep us away from the idea. We took the Metro and walked a little bit through the Parco Del Colle Oppio and then there it was, standing infront of us, reminding us the once dominant Roman Empire. We payed 12e each and got the magic ticket! Inside the concrete pompous building there was an amphitheatrum and the arena in the centre. I got the goosebumps when visualised the arena with animals and people attacking each other and getting killed, must have been a cruel show to watch. Later we visited the upper floor, where there is a museum displaying statues and the map of the Empire, and then headed to the Palatino. However, vacation should be all about relaxation and we put for a while sightseeing at the end of our priority list. We got back to the centre and had a bottle of wine and fresh fish, and I tell you it was a bliss!
Take me back to that day!

Love,
Anastasia
