On Monday morning I flew to Corfu, a beautiful Greek island that I hadn’t visited for almost a decade. This summer I didn’t have in mind to travel back home but a last minute ticket saved the situation and gave me the chance to spend sometime with my beloved sister.
After checking in the hotel we drove to Paleokastritsa, one of the most famous beaches of the island. It wasn’t a long ride and as soon as we got there all I wanted to do is dip my toes into the blue crystal water, can you blame me?
Jovanna-who already had a lovely chocolate tan that made me look even more pale than I actually was-played with the racquets and I soaked up much needed and missed vitamin D into my pores, while listening to the sound of the waves. Bliss!
By lunchtime we headed back to the hotel, had a quick lunch and spent the evening in the swimming pool-I was on the task of getting a tan the earliest possible but apparently wearing 50 SPF sun cream was not helping me. We stayed by the pool until the sunset, before driving back to the city centre.
Corfu city, was as breath-taking as I remembered it to be. The atmosphere was filled with positive vibes of happy tourists and locals, and it was perfect for a relaxed stroll around the alleys and shops. We bought some handmade soaps and bath balls before cooling down with a huge amount of frozen yogurt.
My tiredness from the morning flight earlier the day was not a matter anymore, I was back home in an island with my sister and there was nothing more I could ask to be happy J
