Let me start by saying that I don’t have a big wardrobe. I am mindful with my purchases and building an ethical wardrobe with classic pieces that will last through the years and trends to come is my main goal when it comes to shopping.
Since I started working from home two months ago (TWO MONTHS, my oh my!) everything has changed from the way I get dressed to the way I fold my clothes (the former has massively improved in case you are wondering…) with some days being harder to get dressed than others.
The temptation to lounge in the same clothes is constant but this week I made a bit of an effort to wear something closer to workwear than loungewear and it made such a difference to my daily mood.
In any case, here is a round-up of what I wore this week hoping to bring you some inspiration.
MONDAY looked like I was going in the office, only I wasn’t. I was merely going from the bedroom to the dining table with regular intervals to the kitchen next door to fill up my water bottle. My outfit consisted of second hand garments (Mango trousers and H&M blouse via charity shopping) with the exception of my Charlotte Olympia kitty flats that I bought as a gift to myself after my graduation. My sister still cannot forgive me for this. The biggest waste of £395 she said, whatever! I love them to bits.
TUESDAY was a dungarees and stripes day as I am sure you have already seen from this post. I bought this stripes top from Joules, possibly the only full-price purchase I will do for this year and haven’t looked back. Love the quality and it matches with everything in my wardrobe including these old Sandro Paris dungarees.
WEDNESDAY was a colourful one! I bought this Levi’s pair of jeans when I was volunteering at the PDSA charity shop two summers ago and loved them ever since. These colourful jeans match with many different tops but I am always playing it safe and pair them with a plain blue blouse like this one from M&S. Ballerinas are from Dune and necklace from a Greek Etsy seller.
THURSDAY looked a bit like this. It was sunny and hot so after work I made myself a Dalgona coffee and sat with Cruz in the garden until the sunset. My outfit was a second hand H&M skirt, Oasis top that was gifted to me as part of a fashion collaboration, a rattan bag I bought from a charity shop and a Scarlet Made velvet scrunchie.
Today’s outfit was casual. It was a bit chillier than the previous days so I wore an old Zara black denim skirt, a mustard Oasis top with scalloped neck, a Zara trench coat and my favourite kitty ballerinas.
Not sure what I am going to wear tomorrow but knowing that I have a Zoom quiz night with the family most likely it will be jeans and a white shirt. As comfortable as it gets to be able to eat all the crisps and drink all the white wine!
How about you? Do you find yourself wearing the same clothes again and again or do you make more of an effort?
