London is known for hosting some of the most impressive hotels in the world. From historic to modern buildings scattered around the city, there are more than 100 of them converted to 5* hotels. These places pretty much have everything and travellers will give most things a try. Consequently, there is no shortage of hotels willing to take the extra mile; and Andaz London is one of them!
ANDAZ LONDON LIVERPOOL STREET
40 Liverpool Street
London, United Kingdom, EC2M 7QN
When: August, 2018
If you like history and contemporary art then you’ll adore Andaz London interiors and if you want to keep your options open when it comes to food you’ll be pleased to know that Andaz London has 4 restaurant/bars all under the same roof. You really don’t have to go far away for some sushi and a cocktail!
The best thing about this place though is undoubtedly the service provided 24/7, so all your needs and concerns can be satisfied whatever the time. The rooms are spacious and have a balanced mixture of the original building features and modern art. Those who enjoy a cup of coffee will get their fix anytime of the day as each room comes with an espresso coffee machine and hand baked cookies for the late night cravings. And if this is not enough, then there is a coffee bar in the lobby, free for everyone to use.
The tan leather bed headboard has an impressive engraving that gets your attention when you enter the room, the side table lamps are as if they came straight out of a Swedish interior design store and the Scandinavian theme continues in the simple yet elegant design of the rest of the room. The white tiles, soft towels, black thermostatic shower and REN skincare products and toiletries, is what gives this room the wow-factor, all adding to what makes Andaz London this very special place that it is.
Other amazing things that will make your stay in Andaz London unforgettable include the amazing Darjeeling tea smell that lingers around the lobby and corridors – the first thing you notice upon entering the building – the complimentary wine and canapes evening sessions between 5.30-8pm and the Health Centre – to burn off all the breakfast pancakes!
Breakfast at Andaz London is served at 1901 that is transformed into a breakfast bar heaven during the mornings. With inviting interiors and a warm colour pallete, here is the place to enjoy a rich breakfast before exploring the London streets. We tried the pancakes with berries and the eggs florentine that were delicious and made us wish they came in bigger portions. Next time it will be certainly wiser to order double!
Like mentioned in my vlog, dinner at Andaz London is served in Rake’s, a café bar under the same roof. It has interesting interiors that make you feel as if you are in a tropical garden and with an extensive list of signature cocktails and food in reasonable prices, it can satisfy both the foodies and drinks enthusiasts!
We had a few dips with cheese crackers for starters-baba ganoush is always a winner, isn’t it-before ordering our mains. We tried the pan-friend fish that came on a layered potato salad and the delicious Devon crab linguine, with cherry tomatoes, red chili, crab jus, that was DELICIOUS and came in the surprising price of £13.5!
For dessert we shared the strawberry cheesecake-mouthwatering and so rich in flavour!
